Presbyterian Women

All women of the church and of the community are welcome to participate in our activities. Our motto for 2013-2014 is "Looking Forward Into Our Future."

This year we are trying to discern where we should go in our future. Last year, using the World Cafe pattern, we held conversations with many women of the church trying to find ways to better serve women of all ages.

Three Circles meet monthly in the morning or evening. Varied programs, refreshments, and mission projects, in addition to fellowship, are provided. A monthly Bible Study Group is held on the first Wednesday of the month at 10 a.m. The theme for 2013-2014 is "An Abiding Hope: The Presence of God in Exodus and Deuteronomy." Everyone is welcome to attend.

The Holiday Bazaar, "Christmas Markets: Pleasant Ridge Presbyterian Church Bazaar", will be held on Friday, November 15, 5-8 pm and Saturday, November 16, 11am-8 pm. The market will feature food vendors in outside tents and a gingerbread house competition as well as the usual handmade ornaments, handcrafted gift items, antiques, refinished furniture, candy and epicure. There are several activities for children.

Rummage sales will be held in the spring and fall. Watch for the dates.

Volunteer Opportunities

Mission Sewing

The Kemper Sewing Group meets on the third Monday morning of each month at church to sew for Children's Hospital.

Martha's Meals

At a time of death in a family, upon request, a simple meal for the bereaved family is provided. This may be served at church or at the family's home.

Salvation Army Dolls

These dolls are given at Christmas time to needy little girls through the Salvation Army Christmas Store. Volunteers are needed to dress and prepare the dolls.

Annual Bazaar

The Bazaar will be held on Friday, November 15 (5 pm to 8 pm) in the evening, and Saturday, November 16 (11 am - 8 pm). A new feature is this year is a gingerbread house contest. Information and entry forms are available on the main page.

Rummage Sales

Two sales are held each year, one in the fall and one in the spring. Volunteers are always needed to help sort, arrange and sell items. Profits from the bazaar and rummage sales go to mission causes and church needs.
