Children's Ministry

Pleasant Ridge Presbyterian Church offers a safe, welcoming, and loving environment for all children. 

2011 Vacation Bible School
We are now accepting reservations for this year's VBS! Click on this link to take you to the registration forms and parent welcome letter. Please print the forms out and mail them to Mike Gillespie at the church address at the bottom of this page.

Our regular Sunday School classes run from September through May.

Children Classes
3’s-4’s Sue Imm will be teaching this age group in Room 100 (Nursery area)

5’s-3rd Grade: This class meets in Room 101. Cheryl Hatch, Val Mohr, Elizabeth Hammelrath, and Linda Baden are the teachers.

4th-8th Grade: This class will meet in Room 202 . Bonnie & Bruce Anderson will be in a monthly teacher rotation with Beau & Allison McGrath.

Child Care
We have a very modern, up-to-date child care center and nursery area.  Our child-care providers always give the best attention possible to make sure all preschoolers are safe and secure while parents are participating in other church activities.  On Sunday mornings child care is available for the 8:30 service, during the Sunday school hour, and for the 10:30 service.

Worship and Godly  Play
Children’s worship packets are provided in the narthex that help children better enjoy the time they are in worship.  During worship children are invited to participate in a special children’s moment where the daily scripture lesson is explained in creative ways at their level.
“Godly Play” is a program geared to 3’s – 3rd graders that takes place during the 10:30 worship service.  After the Children’s Moment in worship children leave for a structured experience of singing, Bible stories, and crafts.  During this time children learn the fun songs of faith and work on other music which they share in worship on a regular basis.  It is also a time to explore Bible stories in a fun and creative way.

Youth Ministry

Pleasant Ridge Presbyterian Church has an active youth ministry program.  Currently, all 7th-12th graders meet together on Sunday evenings for a time of fellowship, faith exploration, and mission outreach.  During the year youth involved in a variety of activities which might include lock-ins at the church, retreats, fund raisers, service projects, worship leadership, mentoring children, and fun trips.  During the summer the youth group participates in a Mission Trip or the Montreat Youth Conference.
