Room 101
PRPC has excellent child care facilities and child care providers. Our child care area is a bright, friendly space that preschool children will find very welcoming. Child care is available at all Sunday morning services for young children up through kindergarten age. Parents receive a 'beeper' when a child is checked into the nursery so that our child care providers can have instant contact with a parent if a need arises while a parent is in worship. A new and separate crib nursery room is now available for infants and toddlers and for nursing mothers to use.
Children and Worship
Our congregation believes that children belong in worship. To that end we offer worship packets designed for either preschool or elementary children. These packets provide activities for children when they are not actively (singing, etc.) involved in the worship service. Our 10:30 service includes a "children's moment" which is dedicated to children. It is a time focused for them and is led by a rotating group of adults which includes the pastor, D.C.E., and congregational members.
Preschool children up through kindergarten age can leave worship (if parents desire) after our moments with children and spend the remainder of worship in our child care area. Elementary children remain in worship with parents.
The fourth Sunday of each month, 4 year olds-4th graders are invited to participate in a program of 'Godly Play' following the children's moments. This time provides opportunities for crafts, Bible stories, and other activities.
