Christian Education

The goal of educational ministry at Pleasant Ridge Presbyterian Church is to provide a sacred space in which all ages may be spiritually nurtured and experience the love of God in a community of faith.  There are several opportunities for children, youth and adults to engage in faith development.  Please contact Tiffany Zents, Interim Director of Christian Education (631-9707 or tzents@prpc.org) for more information or to inquire about our programs.  For VBS details and registration, see below.

Sunday Morning Worship and Family Moment - Summer Schedule

During each Sunday Worship 10:30 AM service we invite children (through grade six) and their parents to come forward to the chancel stairs to share a Family Moment message designed for them.  During the months of September through May, kids then leave the service with their teachers to engage with each other in learning more about our Faith tradition through scripture narrative and creative expression.
May 19 is our last Sunday for our regular children’s program. Beginning on Memorial Day weekend, children will remain most Sundays with their families in worship throughout the months of June, July and August.  Parents are welcome to pick a Worship Resource Bag (Brown for Elementary, blue for Preschool) for their children with activities for them during the service.  Also, there will be some special opportunities throughout the summer for children during some worship services that will be announced.  For more information or to sign up for e-announcements, please call or email Tiffany Zents at 631-9707 or tzents@prpc.org.

Youth Opportunities

PRPC sponsors a youth ministry with teenagers in grades 6th-12th.  From September through May the group usually gathers every other Sunday evening (6:30-8:00 PM) for a time of activities, faith discussion, service outreach and prayer.  Special events during the year include lock-ins, mission trips, service projects, recreational outings, and others.  During Sunday morning services, we encourage youth to worship with their families, and they are also encouraged to be assistant leaders in children’s ministry programs.
