Mission
Pleasant Ridge Presbyterian Church has an active mission program and our members are actively involved in the following outreach projects:
The Caring Place, which provides food and other assistance to families in our community
Interfaith Hospitality Network, through which we provide food and housing for three or four families without shelter for six weeks during a year
GLAD House, which works with children to break the cycle of addiction in families and promotes mental health among children
C.A.K.E., which provides refurbished, low cost computers and educational software to homes of children in the Pleasant Ridge Montessori School
Pleasant Ridge Montessori School, providing school supplies and facilities for their after school program
The City Gospel Mission’s Christmas Store, which provides low cost children’s gifts at Christmas
Mitten Tree – in December members decorate a Christmas tree with hats, gloves, mittens, and scarves which are distributed to needy children
World Medical Relief, collecting medical supplies.
Participation in a work week in Gulfport, Miss., working with the Presbyterian Disaster Assistance project.
To get involved in one of the mission projects, contact Betty Merriman or Chris Reece.
We also provide monetary support for Jodi and James McGill, mission coworkers in Malawi, Africa, as well as for numerous other Christian outreach projects in our community and throughout the world.
